Site assessment
We come out and measure the space — floor area, ceiling height, glazing, orientation, insulation and how the room is actually used. Heat load depends on all of it, and none of it can be judged over the phone.
Installation
Assessment, specification, installation and commissioning of split, multi-split and ducted systems — for homes, offices and commercial premises across East London and the surrounding areas.
An undersized unit runs constantly and never quite cools. An oversized one short-cycles, wastes electricity and leaves the air damp. Poor pipework and a badly set gas charge will shorten the life of good equipment.
None of that is visible on the day, which is why it keeps happening. We assess the space first, specify against what we measure, and commission the system properly before we hand it over. It is a slower way to quote and a considerably cheaper one to own.
Five stages, and you will know what is happening at each one.
01
We come out and measure the space — floor area, ceiling height, glazing, orientation, insulation and how the room is actually used. Heat load depends on all of it, and none of it can be judged over the phone.
02
We recommend the capacity and system type the assessment calls for, along with indoor and outdoor unit positions, pipe routing, condensate drainage and the electrical supply required. You get options at different price points where they genuinely exist — and a straight answer where they do not.
03
Mounting, refrigerant pipework, drainage, electrical connection and sealing. Pipe runs are kept as short and direct as the building allows, brackets are fixed into something that will hold, and penetrations are sealed properly on both sides.
04
The system is evacuated, charged to the manufacturer's specification and tested under load. We check operating pressures, temperature differential across the coil, airflow and drainage before we call the job finished.
05
We show you how to run the unit properly — setpoints, modes and the settings that quietly cost you money — explain the filter cleaning interval, and leave you the documentation and warranty paperwork.
We do both. The engineering principles are the same; the constraints are not.
| Room dimensions | Floor area and ceiling height. Approximate is fine at enquiry stage — we measure properly on site. |
|---|---|
| Glazing and orientation | Large windows and west-facing rooms carry a significantly higher heat load. |
| Existing installation | Whether this replaces an existing unit, and the make and model if you have it. |
| Electrical supply | Most units need a dedicated circuit. We check the board during assessment and advise if work is needed. |
| Access | Storey, outdoor unit position and anything that affects safe access for the crew. |
Following site assessment, your quotation sets out the equipment, the work and the price. Where something unforeseen appears behind a wall, we stop and talk to you before spending your money.
We come out, look at the space and quote you at no charge inside East London. If you are further out, we will tell you before we travel whether a call-out applies.
The standard product warranty from the manufacturer applies. Terms vary by make and model — we hand you the paperwork on completion and tell you plainly what would void it.
Where we are replacing an existing system, removal and disposal of the old unit is dealt with as part of the job and priced in the quotation.
It depends on the capacity required, the system type and how straightforward the installation is — pipe run length, electrical work and access all move the figure. We do not quote blind over the phone, because a number given without seeing the space is a number that changes later. Quotes are free in town and the written quotation follows the visit.
A straightforward domestic split unit is generally a single day's work. Multi-split, ducted and commercial installations depend on the scope. We confirm expected duration with the quotation, so you can plan around it.
That is what the site assessment determines. Capacity is driven by floor area, ceiling height, glazing, orientation, insulation and occupancy — not by room count. Both undersizing and oversizing cause problems, so it is worth getting right rather than guessing from a chart.
Most modern units require a dedicated circuit from the distribution board. We check what you have during the assessment and tell you if electrical work is needed, so it appears on the quotation rather than as a surprise on installation day.
Domestic installations do not usually require planning approval, though building rules can apply to external units in some developments, and complexes and body corporates frequently have their own conditions on outdoor unit placement and noise. Worth checking with your body corporate before we start.
Correctly installed and serviced annually, ten to fifteen years is a reasonable expectation. Servicing is the variable that matters most — neglected units fail years earlier, and usually in the middle of summer.
Yes. Removal and disposal of the unit we are replacing is handled as part of the job and included in the quotation.
Samsung and Alliance mainly — both well supported locally, which matters when a part is needed years down the line. For servicing and repairs we work on any make, whoever installed it.
Send us the details of the space and we will arrange an assessment. No charge, no obligation.
